Germany & the Netherlands, 2025

The Santa Rosa Symphony Youth Orchestra will embark on another international tour in June, 2025!

SRSYO will perform four concerts in the cities of Berlin, Leipzig, DĂĽsseldorf, and Amsterdam.

They will have opportunities to collaborate with local youth orchestras and young musicians, fostering cultural exchange and lifelong connections.

Members will learn about Germany & the Netherlands through visits to historical sites and other cultural experiences, becoming musical ambassadors and global citizens.

Spain

Spain, 2022

Santa Rosa Symphony Youth Orchestra (SRSYO) toured Spain from June 16-27, 2022. Forty-eight SRSYO orchestra members, eight chaperones, three staff and one conductor visited Madrid, Cuenca, Valencia, and Barcelona.

Austria & Hungary

Austria & Hungary, 2018

SRSYO and conductor Richard Loheyde toured Salzburg, Vienna, and Budapest.  They performed at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, visited Eisenstadt, and experienced a Masterclass with Christophe Koncz of the Vienna Philharmonic.

China

Musical Journey Through China, 2015

Forty-eight talented musicians of the Symphony’s Youth Orchestra, led by conductor Richard Loheyde, took a life changing Musical Journey Through China, June 17 through June 25, 2015. The orchestra represented Northern California, they performed in renowned concert halls in Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai. When they were not onstage, the young musicians enjoyed plenty of sight-seeing and cultural exchange. Youth Orchestra received a proclamation from the City of Santa Rosa congratulating them on their tour of China. See the Proclamation here: City-Proclamation-for-YO-tour-to-China.

Czech Republic & Germany

Czech Republic & Germany, 2009

The SRS Youth Orchestra celebrated their 50th Anniversary with a nine-day tour to the Czech Republic and Germany. The YO had three performances: St. Saviour’s Church, Prague; Festaal, Bad Schmiedberg (outside of Leipzig) and the Grunewaldekirche, Berlin. The tour also included a masterclass with members of the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Pegau (outside of Leipzig).
