Karen Zimmerman
Contrabass
Karen was born and raised in Los Angeles. She attended the Juilliard School where she was awarded a bachelor’s and master’s degree. She has played with many orchestras over the years including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.
Upon her return to California, Zimmerman has been a member of the Santa Rosa Symphony for over 30 years. She also serves as their music librarian.
Karen lives in Ukiah with her wife, Rebecca, plus 2 dogs, a cat, 4 chickens and 3 ducks.
