Susan Jette is a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) and certified professional Drum Circle facilitator, on the staff of Drummm Rhythmic Events (drummm.com.) In 2021, she retired from Napa State Hospital where she had worked for 38 years as the Internship Director for Music Therapy. She was also an active clinician.

Jette is a longstanding member of the Santa Rosa Symphony, the gig she is the proudest of. She subs with many other ensembles, including The Bear Valley Music Festival, the Sacramento Philharmonic, The Vallejo, Marin and Stockton Symphonies.

As a professional drummer and percussionist, Jette has performed in a broad array of styles. She played midi and acoustic drums and marimbas with D’Cuckoo, traveled on tour to Bali with Gamelan Sekar Jaya, performed at Burning Man & recorded with Gamelan X, was a former principal percussionist with the Women’s Philharmonic, and played with Napa’s Shodan Taiko. Jette has played with several bands in the Bay Area and participated in several studio and film recording projects.

Jette teaches yoga and Mind/Body Fitness classes at Benicia Fitness and Cogir Senior Living. Jette has a sound healing certification and enjoys performing live music to encourage relaxation and stress relief. She’s particularly interested in the “brain gym” aspect of rhythm and movement, as well as the intersection of yoga, mindfulness, and drumming. She believes strongly in the value of using music and rhythm to heal people and strengthen communities.

When not playing percussion or teaching yoga Jette enjoys gardening, travel, wine and her cats.
