The Santa Rosa Symphony (SRS), conducted by Bobby Rodgers, the SRS Youth Orchestra’s conductor presents the second in their Family Series Beethoven Lives Upstairs in conjunction with Classical Kids Live! This inspiring performance tells the story of how a young boy comes to understand Beethoven’s genius, his music’s beauty, and the torment of his deafness. The audience will experience more than twenty-five excerpts of the master’s music, including Moonlight Sonata, Für Elise, and the great Fifth and Ninth Symphonies. The music is magically woven into the drama as two actors share their anecdotes and observations based on true incidents from the composer’s life. With history, drama, music, and fun, this engaging concert is an ideal addition to all children’s education. For pre-concert fun kids of all ages can enjoy the complimentary Instrument Petting Zoo that starts at 2 pm. An assortment of instruments including violins, cellos and trombones will be represented.
