Shawyon Malek-Salehi

First Violin

Shawyon Malek-Salehi is originally from the South Bay Area and grew up in Saratoga, CA. He began learning the violin when he was five and studied Music (Violin Performance) and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at UC Davis.

Malek-Salehi joined Santa Rosa Symphony as of October 2024 and is also a first violinist with the Symphony San Jose, Oakland Symphony, and the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera. He also substitutes with orchestras throughout Northern and Southern California such as the Berkeley Symphony, Monterey Symphony, Pacific Symphony and others. He has appeared as a guest concertmaster with the Peninsula Symphony and has also performed at notable venues such as the Royal Albert Hall (BBC Proms), Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and the Sony Center.

Malek-Salehi enjoys playing chamber music, improvisation, and loves snow-skiing, cycling, hiking, and traveling.
