October 7, 2022

The Santa Rosa Symphony conducted by Music Director Francesco Lecce-Chong presents its second Classical Series concert of the season, Jazz Greats & Tchaikovsky, at Weill Hall, Green Music Center on November 5, 6 & 7, 2022. Opening the concert will be Gershwin’s rousing Promenade (Walking the Dog). The incomparable Bella Hristova, violin, performs the uplifting Concerto in D for Violin and Orchestra, composed by jazz icon Wynton Marsalis. Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, Pathétique, his final completed symphony, considered one of the great symphonic masterpieces of all time will conclude the program. This powerful piece was originally called the “Passionate Symphony” by the composer, but was mistranslated into French after his death, and was henceforth known as Pathétique (Evoking Pity).
